Back to Our People

Genesee has lived in Orange County all her life and has always dreamed of working for an environmental non-profit organization. She received her Bachelor of Science in Environmental Management and Protection with a minor in Indigenous Studies in Natural Resources Management from California Polytechnic State University of San Luis Obispo in June of 2021. Her journey at Coastkeeper began in the Spring of 2021 when she interned for the education department and helped engage students who virtually participated in the Kids Ocean Day program during the COVID-19 pandemic.

As Education Director, she directs Coastkeeper’s education programs and manages the Beach and Coast Accessibility Program in partnership with the California State Coastal Conservancy. Her favorite parts of her role at Coastkeeper are planning Kids Ocean Day and working to expand our access efforts in Orange County!

Before working at Orange County Coastkeeper, she gained experience working with children by volunteering for a special needs dance program, joining the Sprout Up club on Cal Poly’s campus, and demonstrating dance to kids ages four through fifteen. When she’s not working, you can find her exploring all of California’s coast, taking dance classes, dog-sitting, and trying new restaurants!
