Restore Power with Kids Ocean Day
Help OC students protect our coast and embrace their power.
Help OC students protect our coast and embrace their power.
This May, we’re bringing over 1,000 elementary students from inland Orange County to the beach for the 18th annual Kids Ocean Day, our biggest, most inspiring field trip of the year.
This year’s theme is “Restore Power,” a message of hope for students who feel discouraged by environmental injustice and the climate crisis. Through classroom lessons, a guided trash cleanup at the beach, and a giant aerial art project, these kids will discover their power to protect our coast.
For many students, it’s their very first time seeing the ocean. For all, it’s a day that can transform how they see the world and their ability to change it.
Your support makes this unforgettable day possible. A $25 donation sponsors one student’s entire experience, including transportation, cleanup supplies, and a commemorative postcard of this year’s aerial art.

Kids Ocean Day is an annual celebration and call to action for the protection of the world’s oceans. The event’s goal is to allow students from underserved schools to connect with the environment in order to learn the importance of preserving it.
Sponsored by the California Coastal Commission, Kids Ocean Day events are hosted throughout the state by different organizations. It includes a series of assemblies, a beach clean-up, and aerial art display. Orange County Coastkeeper has been the local Kids Ocean Day coordinator since 2008.
