Kids Ocean Day is an annual event designed to engage students from communities facing barriers to coastal access and disproportionate environmental pollution. This program empowers the next generation to value and protect our environment through conservation and advocacy. In 2024, 1,000 elementary students from inland Orange County joined us in Huntington Beach, collectively removing over 300 pounds of trash from the coast.
Sponsored by the California Coastal Commission, Kids Ocean Day events are held in San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Humboldt County, and Orange County. We’ve proudly coordinated the Orange County Kids Ocean Day since 2008, and we’re excited to share our journey with you!
